Far Above Rubies (Pocket Edition)

Far Above Rubies, George MacDonald’s last published work of fiction, is a partly autobiographical novella* about a young Scottish author, the struggles he faces in the early part of his career, and the support he is given from a wife whose value he perceives the more as life’s difficulties close in around him.

First published in 1898 by Dodd, Mead & Company, The Room to Roam now offers this new edition (pocket-sized just like the original), complete with a faithful reproduction of the vintage cover design. Approximately 6″ x 4.5″ in size, this makes for a lovely wee gift or travelling companion. 

*One of two Scottish novellas (the other being The Portent), neither of which contain any broad Scots dialogue
